Michael has over 30 years of experience in finance, including 25 years specialising in banking and agribusiness. He currently works as a Small Business and Rural Financial Counsellor with Rural West, supporting primary producers and regional businesses across Western Australia. Alongside frontline counselling work, Michael focuses on sector capacity building. He regularly mentors staff, delivers lectures on financial advocacy, and collaborates with regional stakeholders to strengthen rural networks.

Supervision Background

Supervision is a core pillar of Michael’s work. He is an Advanced Level Graduate of the SupervisionWA course, completing it a second time as an Assistant Trainer in 2025. Based regionally, he provides structured, reflective supervision for financial counsellors and regional human service practitioners.
